optimist
One who usually expects a favorable outcome.

Christmas season for me involves decorating the tree and house... listening to cheerful carols all month... finding, buying and wrapping the perfect present for each person I love... seeing their faces light up when they open the presents... I get a present too... remembering why we celebrate the holiday... spending time with family and friends... driving around looking at the lighted houses... and eating lots of goodies (especially chocolate).

Yep, I'm an optimist, since this happens every year and it's a wonderful time. :D

After the holidays when the magic is put away into the attic and it's cold and dreary outside, then maybe I'll be a pessimist - 'A person who expects the worst' - but right now I'm much too cheery to be bothered with being so depressing. :P
