Btw - they are out - without the fix for the mods, but that only affects the standalone server. www.fearfans.com and other places should have it up

But in multiplayer, you don't get corpses thrown out from office windows just as you turn around a corner...and make you scream with fear (hide)

yeah, but in multi player you can turn a corner and then all the sudden have a grenade smack you in the face and startle the hell outta ya.

So either way in this game, you get the "scream with fear effect" :thumb:

My friends little boy (8yrs) is a big Serious Sam fan and recently gave Doom3 a try. I had to stay in the room most of the time, it scared the little guy to much to play alone. He has been wanting to play FEAR but the language is not something I want to subject him to. So I downloaded the SP demo of Extraction Point and extracted the files to the HD. I listened to everyone of the files and removed the strong language files. He played that demo about a 150 times so I figured I'd do the same for the full game..yeah right. There are over 4000 voice files to filter through. I am about three quarters the way through and so tired of hearing that F word... 183 files removed so far.

I'm not playing it, but i wonder why so many nolfers play it. In my xfire contactlist, almost everyone plays F.E.A.R. at least a little bit in a week.

Can someone tell me what makes the game so good for fellow Nolfers?

edit: oh i c it's from monolith too, is that the reason?

Well, at least part of it. It runs on a similar engine, so walking around for a large part feels the same. Whenever I switch to a game with a different engine, that sometimes takes some adjustment. For example, in the Source engine, for example HL2 Death Match, I always feel like I'm understeering when I'm going around a corner...

Well, another reason is that many NOLFERS has become player friends over the years with nolf, and I think many started playing it because other "friends" have F.E.A.R

I reluctantly play it when the NOLF2 master server is down.

I see! But the Master Server isn't really down :P , you can still enter through gamespy or xfire, that was different back in January! There you couldn't join at all! :bonk:

*considers getting F.E.A.R.*
