Greetings to you all on the SpawnForum!

Well, back to the old drawing board. I am going to redo/improve an old mod of mine & I have already run into a snag. The start of my level involves Cate being in a cell. I tried to have the effect that she wakes up when the mission starts & plays the camera animation that you get when a player wakes up from a sleep grenade.

I tried several of the specialfx, triggering explosion objects, messing around with the screenshake but i still can't manage to get that camera effect. Does anyone have some insights on this? Is there something in one of the butes files I need to alter or do i have to create my own Fx? If I can't get this to work I may just create my own custom "overlay sprite" & try to simulate what its like to wakeup from a torture session (or a bad hangover). :punch:

cheers

Thanks and Welcome B)

Let me mess around a little, I'll let you know if I figure something out :)

I believe that the function you're after is "awake" which is a actionanimation..
or maybe that's just for various guards etc..

Look at that first mission in CJ where Jack is tied up. He is tied down to the chair and wakes up while the thugs are talking. I believe the cinematic for the camera is something like 'fade in.' A player lure us used to hold him in the chair. The zZzZzZ's, if any, are probably keyed from a sleep animation. I believe that mission was given to us in the tools.

Nevermind my previous reply :P

My solution:

Use a volumebrush, then make it go away afterwards :)
Feel free to use the prefab below if you like..
