Custom Sound/music

Just though I'd wrap together a few notes about supported sounds for nolf2/CJ
as we know, the engine won't play mp3 or pcm wave.
But IMA ADPCM works just fine, and the filesize is smaller than the normal pcm wav file :thumb:

Here's a short tutorial of how to mak'em!

Start by downloading WINAMP (from www.winamp.com)
make sure that you get the large version of it..

My soundfile for this demo is TEST.mp3 which is 6.88mb.

Rightclick the file and choose "play in winamp"
when Winamp appear, click the box in the left upper corner to enter the options..

Select the "Nullsoft Diskwriter plugin" to be able to convert files and save them.
Then click "Configure" at the bottom of the window, and another window will
appear.

Set a "Output file directory" and set 'Playlist index at the beginning' to 'disabled'
Click the tab that has a arrow pointing to it.
Another window will popup and you'll be able to set a output format.

Set "format" to: IMA ADPCM
And "Attributes" to 44,100Khz - 4bit Stereo - 43Kb/sec
(you can also lower the attributes settings to decrease filesize)

Now click "ok" a few times then close to get back into the winamp mainwindow.
then click "play"

Conversion is done :thumb:

The TEST.WAV (ima adpcm) is 9.87mb, a normal PCM wave would be 19,6 MB
with similar settings.. :)

Ah, good to know! :)

I was already wondering why my wav files wouldn't work!
